AQUATIC OASIS

The focus of this project was to give the clients multiple entertainment areas around the pool and within the multi-layered backyard. A 3 ton piece of natural basalt rock from Washington State was installed as a custom water feature and became the focal point of the yard. Whether viewing the rear yard from the upper dining area, complete with tempered glass railings for optimal visuals; or sitting beside the pool under the custom wood pergola the sound and visuals of the dancing water from the basalt column entice the senses. Natural stone steps allow overnight guests to retire to their own private terrace space under the deck and also view the natural stone bridge over the river rock work which drains into the native woodlot. Extensive retaining was required to maintain the grades around the existing pool that was retrofitted and this was accomplished with natural stone armorstone in multiple tiers. Extensive night lighting allows for gatherings to continue on late into the evening and spotlights the water dancing off of the stone column for all guests to enjoy.
