For example, the use of summer perennials blooming adjacent to pool yards and summer terraces;  or ornamental grasses and evergreens visible in the winter for viewing out the window by the fireplace. Colour and texture are important elements in the design process and can be achieved through leaf colour, bark, and other materials such as wood, stone, steel, and water.
